Public Events
& Activities
During April - July 2009, we collected concerns, views
and suggestions from Sai Kung District Council and Kwun
Tong District Council, local residents, representatives
of nearby estates, and representatives of professional
institutes, green groups and cycling associations. We
gathered valuable opinions regarding the project which
are useful for the next stage of the study and evaluation

From the ideas and concepts collected during the first
stage public engagement and the Design Ideas Invitation
Event completed in Nov 2009, 6 bridge design options
have been developed for detailed evaluation. Please
visit Study Progress for
the details of the 6 design options. As one of the criteria
to determine the preferred option, we collected your
preference on the 6 design options during the second
stage public engagement event held during March 2010.
We will continue to consult the public on various topics
about the project and will regularly update the information
on Public Event and Activities in this website.

Stage 2 Public Engagement
Activities
Exhibition and Public
Briefing
A public briefing session
was held at Kin Choi Community Hall, Kin Ming Estate,
on the 11th March 2010, followed by exhibitions of the
6 design options for Cross Bay Link held at 5 venues
around Tseung Kwan O. In order to gauge the public preference
on the 6 design options, a preference survey was conducted
simultaneously with the exhibitions.

Stage
1 Public Engagement Activities
The Stage One Public Engagement of Cross Bay Link project
completed in November 2009. Briefing, meeting, roving
exhibitions and the Design Ideas Invitation Event were
organized to collect public views for the development
of design options of the project.

Design Ideas Invitation
Event "My Vision of Cross Bay Link"
The submission of entries
for the "My Vision of Cross Bay Link" Design
Ideas Invitation Event was closed on 10 September 2009.
48 entries from the public and professionals not only
from Hong Kong but also overseas countries including
Spain and Australia had been received. With the assistance
from the Technical Committee, the Jury Panel selected
12 outstanding entries from the Professional and Open
Groups. The list of award winners was uploaded to Design
Ideas Invitation Event Website.
All entries were exhibited in 1/F Exhibition Hall,
East Point City from 6/11 (Friday) 1pm to 8/11 (Sunday)
7pm. 12 outstanding entries were also exhibited in the
major shopping malls and MTR stations in Tseung Kwan
